Three controlled sections of complicated beauty. Inspired by a very old quilt from Asia, the Beach is an opportunity to highlight tiny pieces of extraordinary fabric against more subtle pieces. This example is a combination of Japanese wool and silk, a very old gold handpainted kimono and a 1940's silk sari.
Although every quilt is different, we based them all on six different templated designs, for which I do many calculations. Our Beach is the most complicated. See below................
